Mrs. Calhoun's Budding Flowers

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Tameka Calhoun

Welcome to the wonderful world of Special Education. As stated above, I am Tameka Calhoun and I teach fifth and sixth grade Special Education-Inclusion. I love children and it gives me great joy to work with your child(ren) on a daily basis. I attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and received my Master's in the Art of Teaching. I have worked within the area of Special Education for four years from grades 1st - 6th. I set goals yearly and this year I would like to make a lasting impression on you child by giving him or her the fundamentals that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.  My goal is to give them the fundamentals to be a successful adult. It takes a village to raise a child and I need all the help that I can get from you while the child is home. Together we can make them successful.

We have some mountains to climb this year. I am working hard to be sure that your child can perform to the best of their ability on the statewide tests this year.  I am working on review items for you child and we are progressing. If you desire to have items to use at home, please contact me. I am open to all questions, comments, and concerns. I can be reached at any time of the school day by calling 318-325-8982. If you would like to request to meet with me, please email or contact me via phone to schedule a meeting. I am available daily between 12:00 P.M. - 1:00 P.M. My email address is Tameka.calhoun@mcschools.net. I am willing to work with you so that we can combine our knowledge and build a solid foundation for your child.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with your child.
